IBS Scherer opens new logistics centre near Kladno
BS Scherer GmbH, the leading manufacturer of environmentally friendly complete solutions for cleaning small parts contaminated with oil and grease, has been focussing on the use of cold cleaners for years.
The German company IBS Scherer, a leading manufacturer of parts cleaning equipment, cleaning and maintenance products for industrial surface cleaning - all made in Germany, officially opened a new logistics and distribution centre in Velké Přítočň near Kladno at the beginning of November. Until this year, the company had a combined administrative and logistics centre for the Czech market in Náchod, which was established when the Czech unit was founded in 1992.
The new logistics centre will help IBS Scherer to better meet the demand of the more than 5,000 customers the company currently has in the Czech Republic. "In order to comply with future legal regulations, meet today's storage and availability requirements and shorten the distances to our customers, we have decided to invest in and build a new logistics and distribution office in Velký Přítocno in the centre of the Czech Republic, near Prague," says Axel Scherer, CEO of IBS Scherer.
With this strategically favourable central location, the company is also counting on a sustainable increase in sales in the coming years. The aim is also to further expand the national sales network and drive forward activities in Slovakia and Poland.
The project for the centre was designed by Czech architect Aleš Krtička and construction of the building began two years ago on the site of a newly created industrial area near Kladno. It currently consists of one building functionally divided into two parts - an office building and a warehouse - with part of the plot having a reserve area for the construction of possible additional warehouse buildings.
IBS Scherer is a German company that has been operating on the Czech market since 1992. It specialises in the industrial cleaning of surfaces and parts contaminated with grease/oil and manufactures special cleaning and maintenance products. All raw materials are produced in neighbouring Germany and the finished products are then delivered to the IBS Scherer subsidiary in the Czech Republic, where they are temporarily stored until delivery to the end user.
The company's major asset is both its own technology development and the reutilisation of chemical substances (cold cleaners). Production directly in Germany brings a number of advantages for the company and its customers. "It is not only the high quality of the products manufactured in Europe, but also the fact that they are available at practically any time. Our Czech customers don't have to worry about possible delivery bottlenecks caused by complicated logistics or problems with sea or air transport," explains Axel Scherer.
IBS Scherer has more than 100,000 customers in Europe. In the Czech Republic, these are mainly large industrial companies, but the company also works with a distribution network focussed on smaller customers. The new logistics centre at a better location should further strengthen the company's position on the Czech market.
